چکیده

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect a microbial fertilizer, produced from phosphate and potassic rocks earthworm compost, as an alternative conventional fertilizers, on lettuce (Lactuca sativa) nutrients soil attributes. experiment conducted in consecutive cycles (30 60 days) Lorca region, municipality Murcia, Spain. fertilization treatments were: 100% recommended rate (RR); 50% RR (5 Mg ha-1); (10 150% (15 control, without N-P2O5-K2O fertilization. fertilizers applied at 100 showed significant positive effects, well best results for plant characteristics. fertilizer increased total N available P K compared with fertilizer. A residual observed successive cycle. effectiveness shows it is viable effects productivity

Soil Amendments and Fertilizer Source Effects on Creeping Bentgrass Establishment, Soil Microbial Activity, Thatch, and Disease

Natural organic fertilizers require microbial degradation for nitrogen (N) release, but their ability to promote rapid turfgrass establishment has not been well documented in newly constructed sand-based rootzones. This 2-year field study evaluated the influence of two general fertilizer and soil amendment programs for their effect on establishment and quality of three creeping bentgrass (Agros...

Microbial Profile of Soil-Free versus In-Soil Grown Lettuce and Intervention Methodologies to Combat Pathogen Surrogates and Spoilage Microorganisms on Lettuce

Aquaponics is an effective method to practice sustainable agriculture and is gaining popularity in the US; however, the microbial safety of aquaponically grown produce needs to be ascertained. Aquaponics is a unique marriage of fish production and soil-free produce (e.g., leafy greens) production. Fish are raised in fresh water tanks that are connected to water filled beds where fruits and vege...

Belowground environmental effects of transgenic crops: a soil microbial perspective.

Experimental studies investigated the effects of transgenic crops on the structure, function and diversity of soil and rhizosphere microbial communities playing key roles in belowground environments. Here we review available data on direct, indirect and pleiotropic effects of engineered plants on soil microbiota, considering both the technology and the genetic construct utilized. Plants modifie...
